Abstract. The use of natural plant-based nutritional components is a central issue in agriculture. Research institutions are collaborating with beef producers to explore innovative approaches that align with sustainable livestock farming principles. Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) represents a viable alternative both in terms of nutritional value and low environmental impact. Therefore, the aim of our research was to examine the effects of hemp cake combined with a probiotic preparation Coelobacterin+ on the metabolism, energy, and productivity of Kazakh White-Нead bulls. Feeding hemp cake with a probiotic supplement to the basal diet resulted in increased nutrient intake: dry matter by 3.47%, organic matter by 5.87%, crude fat by 19.61%, crude fiber by 15.83%, and Nitrogen-free extractive substances (NFE) by 3.72% compared to the control. Also, the experimental bulls digested dry matter by 2.53%, crude protein by 0.92%, crude fat by 0.44%, crude fiber by 1.2%, and non-nitrogenous substances by 2.93% better than their counterparts in the control group. It was found that the efficiency of energy use for growth in the experimental bulls was higher than that of their peers in the control group by 15.19%. Thus, at the end of the experiment, the bulls from Group 1 exceeded their control peers by 17.9 kg (4.97%, P≤0.05). On average, over the age period of 12-15 months, young animals from the experimental group had an advantage over the control bulls in absolute live weight gain by 16.1 kg or 19.23% in average daily gain - by 180 g or 19.35%. Thus, introducing 0.6 kg of hempseed meal into the diet of young bulls, along with the probiotic Coelobacterin+ at a dose of 20 g/head, enhanced metabolism and increased productivity.

Keywords: bulls, feeding, hemp cake, Coelobacterin+, digestibility, energy, live weight
