About the Journal

Theoretical and scientific-practical journal «Herald of Beef Cattle Breeding» is the legal successor of the journal «Animal Husbandry and Fodder Production», that was established in 1931. Be print media of Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution «Federal Research Center for Biological Systems and Agrotechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences».

Since January 2018 the journal «Herald of Beef Cattle Breeding» have been renamed to «Animal Husbandry and Fodder Production» (Extract from catalogue of registered media series PI № FS77-72507 from 20 March 2018).

Since 2018 the volume numbering have been resumed in journal «Animal Husbandry and Fodder Production» (previous title – Herald of Beef Cattle Breeding) in accordance with national publishing standards, which was not applied in the period from 2012 to 2017. The journal ««Animal Husbandry and Fodder Production» periodicity of the output – 4 times a year.

The journal is included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) (August 2024).

The purpose of activity

To form scientific information environment and disseminate information about scientific developments and researches in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry, agronomy, economics and management of the national economy, conducted by scientists FSBSI FRC BST RAS, scientists and specialists of research institutes and universities in Russia, CIS and far abroad. The editorial board intends to promote innovation and thereby contribute to the intensification of beef production and the growth of professionalism of breeders.

 

Subject matter

The journal “Animal Husbandry and Fodder Production” publishes the results of researches and their application in agriculture. The Editorial Board selects the subject matter for each issue. Recommended research areas of articles for publication in the journal are the following: innovations in agricultural science; breeding, selection and genetics of farm animals; production technology and quality of livestock products; theory and practice of feeding farm animals; feed production and feed; economics and organization of agriculture; ecology; information and recommendations in agricultural production.
