Abstract. Fermented feed from agricultural plant waste obtained by solid-phase biofermentation with microbial starters requires sanitary and microbiological assessment, which directly affects animal health, in accordance with hygienic standards for microbiological safety indicators of feed and feed additives in the Russian Federation (RF). The aim of the author's study was to investigate the dynamics of microbiological safety indicators in sunflower husks, corn cobs, grain mixture, and barley with different duration of microbiological fermentation. It was found that, regardless of the duration of biofermentation of corn cobs, grain mixture, and barley, all microbiological safety indicators: TMC, CFU of mold fungi and yeasts complied with regulatory requirements; Pathogenic microorganisms (salmonella and anaerobes) were not detected in either native samples or during fermentation, regardless of its duration.

Keywords: microbiological safety indicators, sunflower husks, corn cobs, grain mixture, barley, microbiological fermentation, Lesnov's starter
