Abstract. The aim of the research was to monitor the antigenic structure of the breeding herd of the originator type Ural Hereford at different stages of improvement. The study of the dynamics of the allele pool by blood groups was carried out at LLC “AF Kalininskaya”, Bredinsky District, Chelyabinsk Region in 2007 (cows, n = 150 heads) and at the present stage (cows, n = 137; sire bulls, n = 34; heifers, n = 160). Analysis of the occurrence of individual antigens showed that, in comparison with the previous monitoring result, carriers of factors I2, K, O1, Q, T1, T2, Y1, A’1, E’1, E’2, F’2, Y’, B” were eliminated from the population according to the most polymorphic EAB locus. At the same time, animals having no antigen like О4, F’, J’2, E, S1, S2, H”, M in the antigenic spectrum appeared in the breeding nucleus. In addition, antigens such as O4, F', J'2, E, S1, S2, H”, M were not found in the previous generation of the herd. The results indicate that the breeding herds of the modern and the previous variant are genetically sufficiently remote from each other. At the same time, the uterine contingent (cows and heifers) of the modern population form a single cluster, and the breeding bulls have an antigenic spectrum different from the main herd. This confirms the decisive influence of bulls on the formation of the genealogical structure of the entire population.
