Abstract. The fish farming in Russia and in the world is actively introducing into the production process the technology of growing aquatic organisms in installations with a closed-cycle water supply, which requires paying special attention to environmental issues and feeding. In addition to this, an urgent problem of modern animal husbandry is avoiding the use of antibiotics, an alternative to which are probiotics. The use of extruded feeds and the peculiarities of the aquatic habitat limit the possibilities of using probiotics based on representatives of the obligate intestinal microflora of hydrobionts in aquaculture. This stimulated the study of spore-forming bacteria with a wide range of functional features. Feed additives based on them contribute to the activation of specific and non-specific body defense systems, normalize digestive processes, promote better assimilation of feed, increase the immune status and resistance of the body to diseases, as well as increase the growth rate. The combined use of several Bacillus strains as part of a single supplement allows to reduce their consumption and increase economic returns due to the synergistic effect, and they surpass multicomponent probiotics in their functional capabilities. According to the research results of domestic and foreign scientists, the use of Bacillus probiotics in the feeding and maintenance of hydrobionts has a positive effect on the effectiveness of the cultivation of various species of fish, shellfish and crustaceans. Further work on the study of the effects of individual strains and their combinations on the physiology, animal science and zoo hygiene of aquaculture facilities will contribute to the development of Bacillus probiotics for the suppression of species-specific pathogens.

Keywords: aquaculture, hydrobionts, probiotics, feed additives, bacillus.
