Abstract. The search for objective tools to improve the biological and nutritional value of beef is of paramount importance in breeding work with beef cattle. The purpose of the research was to identify the kind of the relationship between breeding and productive traits in Kazakh White-Headed bull-calves. The object of the study were Kazakh White-Headed bull-calves (n=12 heads). The correlation coefficients of live weight with carcass weight and rib eye area varied within 0.46-0.61 units. However, the weight growth of bull-calves correlated much weaker with quality indicators of meat raw materials. Widely use of population and genetic parameters is necessary to improve the efficiency of selection and breeding work in beef cattle breeding. This makes it possible to predict quantitative and qualitative indicators of meat productivity in vivo.

Keywords: bull-calves, Kazakh White-Headed breed, meat productivity, meat quality, trait correlation  [1]
